7 Sunday Hacks For a Productive Week

7 Sunday Hacks For a Productive Week

If we’re being honest with each other here, I think we can all admit that at some point or another we have experienced the Sunday blues. The idea that whether we’re ready or not, the weekend is coming to an end and it’s going to be time to get back into work and routine mode.
I realized that if I want to feel ready, positive and have a productive week I need to get myself together and get organized on Sunday (to be completely honest any of these tasks can be done over the weekend and still leave you feeling prepared and ready to take on a new week!).

Here are my tried, tested and true weekend hacks for having a productive week (you can thank me later)!

Meal Plan
Set yourself up for an easy week of eating healthy by planning out your lunches and dinners ahead of time. Make a grocery list and head out the the grocery store, (I actually do this on Saturday) Having a full fridge of healthy foods you and your family love will make life a lot easier!

Spend Time With Family & Friends
Make plans to have brunch or lunch (or coffee!) with friends. Getting social (in real life) is so good for your soul and will instantly put you in a positive mindset going into a new week. Also, put time aside for your family. It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, set aside time to sit down to a home cooked family dinner, read a book as a family or play a board game.

Hang Your Clothes for the Week
This takes some organization. Here’s my tip, look at your week ahead (i.e.: do you have important meetings? Will you be sitting at a desk all week or on the road? Are you volunteering at you kids school?), then check the weather, and then choose outfits based on the above criteria. I have spent countless hours standing and staring at my closet in the morning (just ask my husband!), it truly is a big waste of my time. Setting out my outfits for the week has saved me so much time in the mornings! Want to save even more time during the week? Iron and hang them up ahead of time.
And yes, sometimes I change my mind or my mood changes, but I usually figure that out the night before.

Finish Any Laundry & Cleaning
Once your work week starts, activities and appointments pile up as well, do your dishes and the laundry. Take an hour on Sunday and get your house cleaned for the week. Going into the week with a clean house and laundry folded and put away will definitely set you up for a productive week (and you won’t be stressed out on Wednesday walking by the same pile of clothes that was there Saturday!).

Update Your Calendar & To Do List
Whether you have a family calendar on your fridge or you use an app, look at your week and update/organize what’s going on in the upcoming week. Getting organized ahead of time is the best way to have a productive and less stressful week.

Self Care
Do something for you. Take a bath, read a book or watch your favourite tv show. Take some time for yourself. Weekends can get really busy trying to cram as much as possible into two days, so make sure you take some down time and relax before heading into a new week.

Go To Bed On Time
Sleep is important, duh. Get to bed on time and get enough sleep so that your Monday morning doesn’t feel like torture. Getting enough sleep (every night) will help you feel your best, look your best and attack whatever the new week has for you.

Be Realistic
This is bonus hack …Be realistic with your time and what you can accomplish. Maybe doing everything I listed above isn’t doable for you - that’s okay! Choose one or two small changes and try them out and see how you feel. Small changes often lead to some pretty great results and feelings.
