The Best Crispy Sweet Potato Fries
When I set out to provide healthier meals for myself and my family I decided that I would make as much of our meals from scratch as possible, that way I knew exactly what was going into the food we were eating.
I love fries but making them myself, I always fell short because they turned out mushy, and I love me some crispy fries. After a few attempts I figured out a way to make them crispy! You can find the recipe below!
Ingredients; serves 4
2 large sweet potatoes peeled
1/2 cup coconut oil
a pinch of dried basil, paprika and Cajun seasoning (these are optional and can be substituted with other desired spices)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Slice sweet potatoes very thin (this is important!)
Place in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 3-5 minutes to soften
Lay flat on a non stick baking sheet and bake for 30minutes, watch that they do not burn
Heat skillet on medium heat add coconut oil, add sweet potatoes. Flip often until crispy.
Remove from skillet into a bowl (without oil) and add spices. Toss until coated. Serve with desired dipping sauce, I used M&Ms dill dip!
