The Very Best Christmas Cookies
Raise your hand if you love a sweet treat! Raise your hand if you especially love sweet treats around the Holidays! Both my hands are way up! This year I decided to make Christmas cookies - really, the only Christmas part of this these cookies are the white chocolate chips and red and green M&M’s (which I separated by hand from a full bag of assorted M&MS).
I will say, this is probably the best cookie recipe I have found/made, I doubled the batch and ended up with twenty good sized cookies. Let me tell you how good these cookies are… we had a few of my husbands basketball players staying with us, so between Greg, Maximus, and the three teenage boys there were only two cookies left in the jar by morning. Everyone was singing my praises, and I’ll take that from picky teenagers! I actually had to hide a couple to ensure I had a cookie to have with my coffee the next evening.
I found the original recipe from Bunsinmyoven.com, however I did add and omit a few things based on my preferences and what was in my pantry already. Here is the my recipe!
(Remember, I doubled this to get 20 cookies!)
8 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
1/2 cup golden brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup each red and green M&Ms
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Add melted butter, golden brown sugar, and granulated sugar to mixing bowl and beat until well combined.
3. Beat in the egg
4. Add flour, baking soda and mix until combined into a soft dough
5. Stir in (using a spoon not mixer) dark and white chocolate chips and M&Ms
6. Portion into 9-10 cookies on baking sheet (I used parchment paper on the baking sheet)
7. Bake fore 11-12 minutes, they may look undercooked but they are not!
8. Let cookies set and store in a sealed container
I mean, look at this face. This is the face of a very happy boy who is absolutely loving his cookie!
ENJOY!!
