Jul 1 Must Have Shoes for Summer

It’s officially summer which means bring on all the sandals! Is it me or are there so many more (affordable) options for outfits when it comes to summer shoes?

My go to summer shoe is anything comfortable. We spend a lot of time outdoors, walking and exploring and comfort is key. I love having different types of sandals and sneakers that will compliment multiple outfits. Some sandals are really casual, like my Old Navy flip flops, and some have a little more detail and although they are flats, they can be dressed up worn out for dinner as well. For me, it’s important to have a range of sandals and sling backs for summer outfits. My everyday summer outfits tend to be more casual. You’ll find me in shorts, tanks and sundresses daily, so having a range of summer sandals is a must.

How do I afford a lot of shoes? I’m glad you asked! If you’re anything like me and on a budget (or you just don’t want to spend a lot on a shoe), I always look for 3 things when purchasing new footwear (for any season):
- Is it comfortable or is it going to tear up my heel by the end of the day?
- Cost per wear: Will I wear the shoes a lot, or only once? Will I wear it for multiple seasons and/or years? Are they worth the investment?
- How many outfits can I pair with these shoes?
If you answer these questions honestly you’ll know if the shoe is worth buying.
