Goodness & Hope
Happy Monday!
This week marks the first week back to school (in Ontario) and back to work for me! So what better way to celebrate this new school year than launching a page and weekly post on my website called Rise Up Monday.
Rise Up Monday is all about women rising up together. It’s easy to feel lost and hopeless in today’s world or like we’re not doing enough. We can rise above together and find hope and inspiration together. These short weekly posts are a way for me to share and inspire you to think positively, live healthier and take on the upcoming week right where you’re at, all while you sip your Monday morning coffee.
Let’s jump in!
My first Rise Up Monday is inspired by the new school year. I love the way a new school year feels. Everything is new: my day planner is crisp waiting to be filled, my first day back to work outfit is new and hung waiting to be worn, classrooms are organized and there is a subtle buzz of eagerness to take on a new year that no one can deny. There is so much anticipation of goodness and hope for the year ahead.
I truly believe that when we anticipate good things that good things will happen and when we choose to only see the bad, not only will that be our mindset but we’re missing out on all the good, (even if the good is seeing a silver lining in an otherwise undesirable situation). Did you know that positive thinking helps with stress management and can improve your overall health? Hello! Sign me up, please!
Engaging in hope and positive thinking doesn’t mean that there won’t be moments we feel frustrated, let down or have disagreements with others. All of those are inevitable parts of life - but so are goodness and hope! When we teach our brains to choose hope we are able to find the good, regardless of how small it may seem, even in those low moments.
Today whether you are heading back to work, or returning to the job you left at 5pm on Friday, I encourage you anticipate goodness and hope for your week. Allow space in your day for hope and goodness to shine through. Let that be what motivates you to make the world, your workplace and your home a better place.
Happy Rise Up Monday, Everyone!
